Leyla Kampeter (they/them),
born in 1996 in Hamburg, currently studying painting at the Weißensee Academy of Art Berlin under Friederike Feldmann and Alexander Wagner. In addition, they spent one year as a guest in Antje Engelmann’s sculpture class.
My sculptural works and acrylic paintings exist in their own world. Unbound by fixed themes, guided instead by one central aim: to spark joy. The fun of the installational practice comes from experimenting with a wide range of materials. This process is rooted in spontaneity and inspired by the unconventional forms of illegal art in public spheres. Through my approach, I create space. These spaces are childlike, queer, and feminist.
