it’s complicated is about my mother and me and includes figures and paintings made by me but from her. It’s an attempt to surround myself with her presence, though it’s an effort destined to fail. Unlike the cardboard houses of my childhood, these new houses now are larger and serve a different purpose. They have become places of retreat and settings for intimate encounters.
